Editor of the review site, Scene

The editor of Scene is responsible for the overall academic quality of the reviews published by the journal, and supervises Regional Editors who contribute.

Reviews in Scene are of two types:

  1. "Pre-publication" of first impressions of a production, intended for a rapid response in the early days of performance.
  2. Formal reviews, peer reviewed.

The editor of Scene also undertakes these tasks:

  1. Overseeing all peer review, ideally establishing a "stable" of "review reviewers" to ensure rapid turnaround.
  2. Mentoring Regional Performance Editors as they submit materials for the database of Shakespeare in performance (SIP) and uploading informal reviews directly.

The Editor of Scene liaises with the General Performance Editor, the Associate Performance Editor, and the Associate Coordinating Editor, as needed.
