About the Company
The Shakespeare Company was founded by LuAnne Morrow and Richard Kenyon in 1995 with their first production on February 14, 1996. In 2004 Iam Coulter was appointed the second Artistic Director. As a not for profit theatre company and a registered charitable organization, The Shakespeare Company has produced over 25 full length productions in Alberta and British Columbia. In Calgary, performances have been held at the Dr. Betty Mitchell Theatre, the Joyce Doolittle Theatre, the Engineered Air Theatre, Pumphouse Park and the historical Calgary Opera Centre. The Shakespeare Company has been growing a successful summer tour that opens in Calgary in July and travels through Alberta and British Columbia until mid August. The Shakespeare Company employs both Equity and Non-Equity artists.
