Another of David Bradley's low budget, amateur Shakespeare films. As with his Julius Caesar, Bradley produced the movie on an incredibly slim budget, this time spending about $5000. The film was produced in and around the environs of Northwestern University near Chicago and made considerable use of student talent and home-made costumes, which, according to Peter Morris, were designed by Charlton Heston. Ironically the film career of this most promising young producer did not flourish when in later life he turned to making commercial films. Katz records Bradley's last film, The Madmen of Mandoras, as having been made in 1963
