The TheaterThe Theater of the Internet Shakespeare Editions is a section of the site devoted to the performance of Shakespeare.
Shakespeare in PerformanceOur database of Shakespeare in Performance is an innovative, searchable resource that will appeal to actors, directors, students, scholars, and Shakespeare theatergoers. Shakespeare in Performance, with new material added every week, illustrates the performance of Shakespeare's plays on film and stage. Although the focus is on North American productions, contributors come from around the world, from Australia to Germany. The database also includes graphic illustrations of the plays from earlier periods. Film entries in Shakespeare in Performance originated, with permission, in the important work by Kenneth Rothwell, Shakespeare on Screen: An International Filmography and Videography (New York: Neal-Schuman, 1990).
