William Kinsolving

WILLIAM KINSOLVING, New York City, returns for his third Festival summer, his first as a Director. A Stanford University Drama graduate, he studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. He received a Ford Foundation Grant in playwrighting in 1965' and the following year had his play Nicholas Romanov produced at the Manitoba Theatre Center. He has performed in both Broadway and off-Broadway productions. In 1966, he visited Russia to write a comprehensive article on the Russian theatre for the Tulane Drama Review. Festival audiences remember him for his appearances in the title role in Richard the Second and as Oberon in A Midsummer Nights Dream. He has served as a Director with the Vining Repertory Company and has appeared with the National Shakespeare Festival Company in San Diego and in a London musical production of The Christmas Carol. During the past year, Mr. Kinsolving completed three screen plays: Girl in Summer for Edwin Productions, Nimue for Lema Productions, and The Atrocity Exhibition. He has also been active in theatre administration and organization work.
