ISE Style Guide
The ISE Style Guide (formerly Section 7 of the Editorial Guidelines) governs the following ISE pages and documents:
- Critical Introductions, annotations, and other paratexts in the editions
- Any pages about the ISE site itself (e.g., all pages in the Foyer)
- Reviews in Scene
- All peer-reviewed materials published by the ISE
The ISE's Style Guide is currently a work in progress (as of October 2016). We invite questions and suggestions from our contributors and affiliates as we codify our practices and make global changes across the site. Please contact Coordinating Editor Janelle Jenstad.
This guide is being developed from the following sources:
- Michael Best's original Section 7 of the Editorial Guidelines
- The University of Victoria Style Guide
- The MLA Handbook (8th edition)
- The Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition)
- The MoEML Guide to Editorial Style
Contributors to the guide are: Janelle Jenstad (Coordinating Editor), Jan Sewell (Assistant Textual Editor), and Jasmeen Boparai (Research Assistant). Consultants: Michael Best (Founding Editor), James Mardock (General Textual Editor), and Susan Doyle (Assistant Teaching Professor & Acting Professional Communication Adviser, English, UVic).
