Description
Professor Ball sees this film as marking a breakthrough in the severing of film from stage conventions. Hamlet was played by Ruggero Ruggeri, an actor who was as well known as the great Tommaso Salvini and Ernesto Rossi. Although by then a paunchy forty six, Ruggeri still managed to create a memorable prince (Ball 262)
