Description
The BBC production staff was unhappy with certain technical flaws that marred the production. A prompter was seen in the foreground of a long shot, and a property man walked across a superimposed shot. Moreover one executive grumbled that certain members of the cast were in no position to have accepted their engagements. So apparently all did not go as well as one might have hoped with a cast including such distinguished persons as Peggy Ashcroft. The budget was less than £500, which was skimpy even for those austere years (WAC TS/508, Feb. 1939)
