Description
As the grand finale for the minor tetralogy, this production follows the stylistic policies already established by director Jane Howell for the three parts of Henry VI (see 186-7, 193). Again ingenious use of extremely simple settings (based on a children's playground), along with the judicous use of mirrors for battle scenes, creates an illusion of calamitous violence and turmoil. The text is based on the 1951 Peter Alexander edition
