Description
R.H. Ball's description remains the definitive account and must be read for an appreciation of this film's elaborate effects. The movie starred the great tragedian, Frederick B. Warde, who subsequently played King Lear in the 1916 Thanhouser film. Apparently the performance was a combination of film, lecture and recital, with Warde on hand in person. In the days of transition from theatre to movies personal appearances by actors on stage, along with vaudeville performers, were common practices
