Description
A "rock operatic" version of Othello, in the tradition of Hair or Jesus Christ Superstar, a genre that was fashionable in the late Sixties and early Seventies. Originally produced on stage in London, but later revised for filming in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Director Patrick McGoohan had appeared in the 1962 All Night Long (461), a film also based on Othello but about London jazz musicians. This film and All Night Long re-appropriate Othello for the eras of jazz and rock
