Description
Originally this modern dance sequence based on Othello was transmitted on Omnibus, the intellectual's television show of the Fifties. Since then it has been transferred to 16 mm film and made widely available by distributors. On the day that it was broadcast, the Times reported that as of Oct, 1, 1953, there were 25,690,000 tv sets in American homes, or 56% of them. Clearly television was booming and able to find an audience for even such esoterica as modern dance
