Description

A story in The New York Times indicated that the original plan was for Omnibus to pick up this show "live" in New Haven, Conn., where it was to be performed by the Yale University Drama Department. There was also talk of the student actors' using the London dialect of Shakespeare's own time, which to most people today sounds something like a thick Irish brogue. If that indeed happened, then television has rarely again offered programming so exquisitely high brow. On the same bill that afternoon were rarified Southern African songs by Marais and Miranda. Not fare for the Sunday afternoon football crowd
