Description
Early silent adaptation by William Selig (1864-1948), pioneering filmmaker, who made many technical and artistic contributions to the fledgling film industry. Besides developing the Selig Standard Camera he also invented the faked newsreel shot with his spurious pictures of Teddy Roosevelt shooting a lion in Africa. This same man who made a Shakespeare film also brought Tom Mix into the movies. One might say that he was versatile in every way
