Description
Based on Acts 1-3 of King Henry VI, Pt. 3. The twelfth installment in An Age of Kings (see also numbers 156-9, 178-9, 185, 188, 191, 192, 485-6, and 505-6). It looks as though the usual 9 P.M. time slot for this series was usurped on Oct. 6, 1960 by professional boxing. At 8:30 the fight between middleweights, Ron Redrup of Ham and Gert van Heerden of South Africa, engaged the attention of the masses. By 9:45 P.M., following a news break, Britons were once again ready for Shakespeare. For additional background, see The Hollow Crown (485), which is based on Richard II and which is therefore the first episode in the series
