Description
In a way Carry on Cleo is to Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra what Boys from Syracuse is to Comedy of Errors. On the other hand Carry on Cleo is more of a travesty than a farce because it transmogrifies tragic materials into a farcical context. It thereby crudely violates its Shakespearean source, though not very much of Shakespeare is left in the script
