Michael Shamata

Michael returns to Bard this year, having directed The Comedy of Errors last season. Known in Vancouver for his direction of The Playhouse musicals Hello Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof, The Music Man and Guys and Dolls, his recent credits include Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Manitoba Theatre Centre), Walk Right Up (Stratford), A Christmas Carol (Soulpepper), Pelagie and The Tempest (Canadian Stage). Michaels production ofFiddler on the Roof received the Jessie Award for Outstanding Production. His production of A Little Night Music (Canadian Stage) received the Dora Award for Outstanding Production of a Musical.
