David L. Wight

DAVID L. WIGHT, Associate Director of Music during the leave of absence of Music Director, W. Bernard Windt, joins the Festival for his first full season. He received his A.B. in Music from San Jose State College, San Jose, Calif., and Masters Degree in Music from the University of Oregon. Mr. Wight continued his studies in the Graduate School of Music at Stanford University, with particular concentrations in woodwinds and vocal music. He numbers among his credits dramatic and musical productions at Stanford, the University of Oregon, and San Jose State. In addition to his extensive knowledge of the music of the Elizabethan and Baroque periods, he has actively participated in jazz presentations throughout his college and teaching career. Mr. Wight is a music instructor in the Ashland Public School System, where he has worked with Mr. Windt in the orchestral program. He has directed bands on various grade levels and is the Director of the Senior High School Stage Band. Last year Mr. Wight was accompanist for the Festival dance program.
