Marcia Thayer

MARCIA THAYER, in her second season as Festival Choreographer, received her B.A. in Dance and English at Mills College and is currently working on her M.A. in Drama at the University of Iowa. At Mills she worked with Darius Milhaud, Arch Lauterer, and Eleanor Lauer, her dance studies have included work in New York on modern, jazz, and Highland dancing, together with special studies at Mills, University of Iowa, and in Portland, where she worked as a dancer and actress with Oumanskys Magic Ring Theatre. An accomplished musician, she has played violin with the Portland Junior Symphony and the Berkeley Symphony. With the Portland group she was also principal violist. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, she has taught dance, drama, and music, choreographed concerts in California and Iowa, and has appeared as an actress at' several theatres. Her stage roles include Lucetta in the Festivals 1957 production of Two Gentlemen of Verona, Elvira in Portlands Fir Acres Theatre production of Blithe Spirit, and the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland at Mills,
