William Roberts
WILLIAM ROBERTS, Arcata, Calif., joins the Festival from Humboldt State College where he will be a junior Drama major. His performances have included Oedipus in Oedipus the King, The Old Man in lonesco's The Chairs, and Eugene Gant in Look Homeward Angel. Leading roles in Pajama Game, The Boy Friend, Damn Yankees, and Bells are Ringing have also been his. At Humboldt State, he has appeared in several original radio and television productions.

WILLIAM ROBERTS, Canterbury, England, earned a B.A. in Theatre Arts at Hum-boldt State College and a Diploma an from England's University of Manchester, ,,,^.^ ne directed Ann Jellicoe's Shelley, or the Idealist. With the Marlow Theatre in Canterbury, he portrayed Major Petkoff in Arms and the Man and Horatio in Hamlet. His other acting credits include the role of Vendice in The Revenger's Tragedy at the the University of California and the title role in Oedipus Rex at Humboldt. He has also worked with Peter Cheeseman, at the Victoria Theatre, Stoke-On-Trent. Returning for his fifth Festival season, he has been seen here in the roles of Macduff in Macbeth, Polixenes in The Winter's Tale and Don John in Much Ado About Nothing. During the 1972 Festival/STAGE II season, he was seen as Simon Jenkins in Room Service, Philly Cullen in The Playboy of the Western World and Alexander Serebryakov in Uncle Vanya, a role which he will continue through the bulk of the slimmer season. In addition to his directorial assignment for Henry the Fourth, Part Two, he will also be seen as Boyet in Love's Labour's Lost.

WILLIAM ROBERTS, Portland, Ore., is in his third season here. At Humboldt State College where he is a senior in Theatre Arts, he appeared as Oedipus in Oedipus the King, the Old Man in lonesco's The Chairs, and Eugene Gant in Look Homeward, Angel. With Herman Poppe of the Festival company, he has recently returned from a Special Services Tour in Germany featuring excerpts from the plays of Shakespeare.
