Steven A. Maze
STEVEN A.MAZE, Ashland, Oregon, returns to the Festival for his sixth season, his fourth as Lighting Designer. A resident staff member, he has designed lighting for a total of 27 Ashland productions including the 1971 offerings of Under Milk Wood, Arsenic and Old Lace, A Man for All Seasons, The Glass Menagerie, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth. After being graduated from San Jose State College, he joined the staff of the Department of Speech and Drama at Stanford University and was Lighting Designer for the Stanford Repertory Theatre for three years. His design credits there include Andromache, Blood Wedding and Antony and Cleopatra. As an artistic staff member of the Seattle Repertory Theatre for three seasons, he designed lighting for A View From the Bridge, Volpone, Once in a Lifetime, In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer and, most recently, The Miser. His previous Festival design credits include The Merchant of Venice, The Comedy of Errors, Rosencrantz and Guilden-stern are Dead, Anouilh's Antigone, The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Henry the Eighth and Maid of the Mill.

STEVEN A. MAZE, Palo Alto, California;\is a graduate in Drama from San Jose State College, returning for his third season with the Festival and his first as Lighting Designer. His experience includes Lighting Design for The Music Man and The Cherry Orchard at San Jose State and The Importance of Being Ernest for the Oakland National Repertory Theatre, where he was Resident Designer. As Lighting Designer for the Stanford Repertory Theatre his credits include Antony and Cleofatra in 1967, and this year the West Coast premiere of CandauleSy Commissioner, The New Tenant, and The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd, He is currently on the staff of Stanford University^ Department of Speech and Drama as Lighting Co-ordinator.

During the last three years at Stanford Repertory Theatre, he has designed lighting for a number of productions, including Andromache, Blood Wedd/i'nfi. Antony and Cleopatra, The New Tenant ^.J Hie West Coast premiere of Candaules, Commissioner. This past year lie was a staff member of the Speech and Drama Department at Stanford University. Mr. Maze also designed the lighting for Alien Fletcher^s production of A View from the Bridge at the Seattle Repertory Theatre this winter. During the 1968 Festival season, he designed lighting for Hamlet, As You Like It, Henry VIII and CymbeUne, and for the musical Maid of the Mill in 1967. Mr. Maze will become a member of the full-time resident staff following the 1969 season.
