Hans Lampl

Hans LampI of the University of Southern California music department was the Festival Associations first and last choice when a director for the new Elizabethan music program was sought. Mr. LampI studied piano, violin, and theory in Vienna, and received his Master of Music degree from U.S.C. He taught first at Morningside College in Iowa, then returned to Southern California as lecturer in music in 1949. There he teaches piano, conducts two chorus classes, and assists in the opera department. He became interested in Elizabethan music while studying interpretation with harpsichordist Alice Ehlers. Here Mr. LampI is completely in charge of Festival music groups and has composed and adapted the incidental music for three of the plays as well.
