Layton Karkosh

LAYTON KARKOSH, Dallas, Texas, joins the Festival for his first season as Stage Designer. He received his Bachelor^ degree in Architecture at Iowa State University, his M.F.A. in Drama at Yale, and is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Drama at Southern Methodist University. While on the staff at the University of Texas he designed sets for B. Iden Payne^s productions of Measure for Measure and Julius Caesar in addition to creating sets for Bartholomew Fair, Rashomony Lady from the Sea, Take Me Along, The Bacchae and Saint Joan. Mr. Karkosh taught at the Riverside campus of the University of California this past year and designed sets for Tartuffe^ The Crucible, The Cuckolds and Murder in the Cathedral. He has also held technical positions at Southbury Playhouse, Southbury, Conn., Williamstown Summer Theatre, Williams-town, Mass., and Goodspeed Opera House, East Haddem, Conn.
