George Hitchcock

GEORGE HITCHCOCK, San Francisco playwright, is in Ashland for his first Festival season. A graduate of the University of Oregon, he has been seen in numerous productions by the San Francisco Interplayers. His roles include Claudius in Hamlet, Sergius in Arms and the Man, and the Ragpicker in Madwoman of Chaillot. Many of his plays have been produced, including The Magical History of Dr. Faustus, Kan-Chen-Chomo, and The Counterfeit Rose. His Up From Everest is scheduled for off-Broadway production in New York, and his forthcoming work, Prometheus, is slated for a San Francisco viewing next year. Mr. Hitchcock is also the author of published poetry, fiction, and articles.
