Allen Fletcher
Alien Fletcher, on academic leave from the Festival in 1951, is in his third year as a Festival director and actor. Holding two degrees from Stanford University, he taught in the drama department and worked toward his Ph.D. at Yale University this past year. He will join the drama faculty at Carnegie Tech this autumn. In 1948, he began the cycle of history plays at the Festival by directing King John; in 1949, he directed Othello and The Taming of the Shrew. This year he directs Julius Caesar. In addition, he has played numerous roles in productions here; this season, Don Pedro and Brugundy.
