Jean Schultz Davidson
JEAN SCHULTZ DAVIDSON, Ashland, Oregon, is with the Festival for her eighth season and her third year as Costume Designer and resident staff member. Since joining the Festival, she has designed costumes for 23 separate productions including Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, The Merchant of Venice, Rosen-crantz and Guildenstern are Dead and Anouilh's Antigone. For the 1971 seasons she has designed costumes for Under Milk Wood, A Midsummer Night's Dream, A Man for All Seasons, Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth and Henry the Fourth, Part One. A graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. degree in Drama, she spent three years ingraduate studies, also at Stanford, during which she held a teaching assistantship in make-up and costume. She has designed costumes for several productions at the Stanford Repertory Theatre, including All's Well That Ends Well and Antony and Cleopatra; and developed techniques in costume painting and special effects for numerous productions, including Prometheus Bound. She has also designed several productions for the Palo Alto Community Theatre. Mrs. Davidson first joined the Festival as Costume Assistant, later served as Assistant Costumer for four years and in 1968 had the responsibility of Associate Designer.

JEAN SCHULTZ DAVIDSON, Menio Park, California, is Associate Costume Designer and is now in her fifth season. She is completing her M.F.A. in Costume Design at Stanford where this past year she has given lectures in make-up and design. For the Stanford Repertory Theatre she designed Antony and Cleopatra and All;s Well That Ends Well and developed techniques in costume painting and special effects for Prometheus Bound. In previous years with the Festival, she designed costumes for Maid of the Mill, The Beggars Opera and Lovers Made Men. She has been Assistant Costumer for the past three years and in 1964 was costume assistant specializing in Celastic. She has also designed for productions at the Palo Alto Community Theatre and the Comedia Theatre. For the 1968 Festival season she designed costumes for As You Like It and Lock Up Your Daughters.

She was Associate Designer during the 1968 season and Assistant Costumer for the four preceding years, specializing in 1964 as a costume assistant in Celastic. A graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. degree in Drama, she is completing work toward her M.F.A. degree in Costume Design at Stanford, where she has also lectured on makeup and design. For the Stanford Repertory Theatre she designed costumes for Antony and Cleopatra, All's Well That Ends Well, and developed techniques in costume painting and special effects for Prometheus Bound. In previous Festival seasons, Mrs. Davidson has designed costuming for The Maid of the Mill, The Beggar's Opera, Lovers Made Men; and last year for As You Like It and Lock Up Your Daughters. She has designed also for productions of the Palo Alto Community Theatre. Following the 1969 season, Mrs. Davidson will become a member of the Festival's full-time resident staff.
