Marie Chesley

MARIE CHESLEY, Festival Costume Designer, is in her sixth season of association with the Festival Theatre. She is a graduate of Valparaiso University in Indiana, and is a candidate for an M.A. in Drama at Stanford University. For the West Bay Opera Company in Palo Alto, where she recently completed her third season, she has designed productions of Il Trovatore, Madame Butterfly, Die Fledermaus, La Traviata, The Marriage of Figaro and The Outcast ; Poker Flat, For the Community she has designed Annie Get Your Gun and The King and I. At Stanford she has constructed The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore for the Music Department, This fall, Mrs. Chesley will return to her studies at Stanford University.

MARIE CHESLEY, Festival Costume Designer, is in her seventh season of association with the Festival Theatre. She is a graduate of Valparaiso University in Indiana and received her M.A. in Drama from Stanford University. For the West Bay Opera Company in Palo Alto, she has designed productions of Il Trovatore, Cavalleria Rusticana, Carmen. The Masked Ball, Madame Butterfly, Die Fledermaus, La Traviata, The Marriage of Figaro, Svor Angelica, The Comedy on the Bridge and The Outcasts of Poker Flat. For the Palo Alto Community Theatre she designed Annie Get Your Gun and The King and I. Last season at Stanford University she designed La Parisienne and, for her M.A. production thesis, designed The Matchmaker. Productions of The Importance of Being Earnest, Antigone and Macbeth were also costumed by her. While at Stanford University she held a Costume Assistantship for two years. She is in her second season as Festival Costume Designer.
