Ralph Blankenagel

Ralph last appeared in Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan as "Pompey" in Measure for Measure and "Jaques" in As You Like It. Ralph first appeared in Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan in 1985's The Tempest as a fairy clad in a body stocking and wrapped in cellophane. From thither to hence, he has portrayed assorted lackeys, lechers, monsters and clowns under the striped sky of the festival tent. Having studied drama at the U of S, Ralph continues to learn amid the various theatrical talent both here and at Persephone Theatre where he labours as Production Assistant. Enjoy the show.

Ralph has had many exits and entrances in his "strange eventful history" with the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival, most recently appearing as Face in The Alchemist and Rosencrantz in Hamlet. When not treading the Bard's boards, he lurks as production assistant at the Persephone Theatre where he designed last season's Here on the Flight Path - a grand opportunity to design the scenery rather than chew it. Ralph is also a long time member of the improvised Saskatoon Soaps whose origin began as a fundraiser for the fledgling Shakespeare Festival. Thanks for your support and enjoy the show!
