Candace Birk

CANDACE BIRK, Dallas, Texas, making her first appearance with the Festival, holds a degree in Theatre from Northwestern University. This past year, she has been the Director of the Theatre for Young People at Southern Methodist University. She has appeared as Lady Hurf in Thieves' Carnival, Dr. von Zahnd in The Physicists, and Marianne in The Miser at Scott Theatre Actors Repertory Company in Fort Worth, Texas. She has also appeared as Emily in Our Town at the Tncatrc-in-the-Round in Minneapolis and as Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest at the University of Minnesota.

CANDACE BIRK, Ashjand, Oregon (Tudor Guild Scholarship) has done graduate work at the University of Minnesota and has worked as Director of the Theatre for Young People and the Experimental Ar^ Dr^n,at Southern Methodist ^nivoiony. At Fort Worth's Scott Theatre Actor's Repertory Company, she played Lady Hurt in Thieves' Carnival and Dr. von Zahnd in The Physicists, Her previous Festival roles include the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet, Toinette in The Imaginary Invalid and Calpurnia in Julius Caesar. She appeared in her third Festival season this spring as a Player in Under Milk Wood, Martha Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace and Titan ia in A Midsummer Night's Dream, which continues for the summer season.
