Dr. Margery Bailey
Dr. Margery Bailey, Stanford University, is the Festival Academic Advisor, and one of the country's outstanding Shakespearean scholars. She received her Ph.D. from Yale University. Dr. Bailey's services to the Festival have been outstanding; beyond her academic duties, she is the event's "public relations department in California" and elsewhere. Last year she appeared on the Festival's radio broadcast over NBC and appears again this year. As an actress, she captivated audiences as Juliet's nurse in 1949, and rumor has it that she may well appear as an actress again in 1953.
