David O'Brien

DAVID O'BRIEN, Glencoe, Ill, graduated this June with a B.A. in Speech and Drama from Stanford University, and this fall will begin study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art on a Fulbright Scholarship. At Stanford he appeared as Berowne in Love's Labour's Lost, Feste in Twelfth Night, Hjalmar Ekdal in The Wild Duck, Peter Bond in Thieves' Carnival, and Marchbanks in Candida. He is in Ashland for his second season, having performed here in 1956 as Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Buckingham in Richard III, and in the title role of Cymbeline.

DAVID O'BRIEN, Chicago, 111., is a graduate of Stanford and a veteran of three Festival seasons. In 1956 he was seen here as Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet and in the Cymbeline title role. In 1957 he played Touchstone in As You Like It, Buckingham in Henry VIII, and Proteus in Two Gentlemen of Verona. His work as a Fulbright student at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art earned a rare second-year extension, during which he appeared as Posthumus in Cymbeline, Leontes in The Winter's Tale, and Scandal in Love For Love. He also created a role in the London premiere of the new play All My Own Work and performed in The Heiress on BBC closed-circuit television.
