Description
One of several programs prepared for the Open University television programs in Great Britain. Not seen in the U.S. According to the BUFVC catalog, each program features a director leading one of the actors through his/her role. In this program, director John Russell Brown shows that Isabella is far more complicated than the priggish moralist that she is usually thought to be. The focus is on Act II, scene ii when Isabella comes to plead with Angelo for Claudio's life. In the second workshop, the scene shifts to III, i, when she informs her brother, Claudio, to his discomfiture, that she considers her maidenhead more precious than his head
