Description
The production follows the Peter Alexander edition, with some further alterations by script editor David Snodin. As he explains, the play is already one of Shakespeare's briefest anyway, though for the sake of compression Hecate's two appearances (in 3.5. and 4.1) have been eliminated along with the English Doctor's report on the King's 'evil' (4.3). In addition 3.6. takes place after rather than before 4.1 in order to achieve greater tension (BSP 31)
