Description
Frequently cited as a Shakespeare film, Broken Lance actually has but thin connections with King Lear. One could argue that traces of the Gloucester plot linger on in the relationship between Matt Devereux (Spencer Tracy) and his sons, three of whom are disloyal (Ben, Mike and Denny) and one loyal (Joe). There is also a kind of Cordelia figure in Judge Horace's daughter, Barbara (Jean Peters). But beyond that it's difficult to see much else of King Lear
