Description
A recording of a modern dress performance by the National Youth Theatre. The production first opened at the Queen's Theatre in 1960, was revived at Sadler's Wells, and was then taken on an extensive European tour. In its relentless efforts to make Shakespeare's play relevant to contemporary politics, it became known as the "Teddy Bear Caesar," a reference to a certain type of aimless thug then fashionable in London, early "Punk," one might say
