Description
The third in a series of twelve British educational films showing scenes intended "to serve as an introduction to each play's theme or atmosphere" (see also numbers 22, 131, 232, 326, 430, 467, 490, 510, 556, 601 and 619). This part shows the fun-loving Hal in the tavern with Poins rehearsing for another of his nasty little practical jokes on Falstaff (2.2). This series, the "IFB," should not be confused with "The Shakespeare Series" (BHE/BFA), a series of abridged plays (see 41, 228, 258, 323, 406, 656). The BUFVC catalog (8) lists a Henry IV Part 2: An Introduction, which includes II.ii as well as V.v, and seems to be an expanded version of this film. The U.K. distributor (EFV), however, no longer seems to be in existence
