About the Company
The Riverside Shakespeare Company of New York City was founded in 1977 by W. Stuart McDowell and Gloria Skurski as a professional theater company on the Upper West Side of New York City. Focusing on Shakespeare plays and other classical repertoire, it operated through 1997. In its twenty years, Riverside presented over 100 Equity productions, benefits, and radio broadcasts of works by Shakespeare, Marlowe, Brecht, Machiavelli, and Shaw.
