Peter B. Young

PETER B. YOUNG, Pasadena, Calif., is in his third season with the Festival, this year in the post of Technical Director. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Davis, where he portrayed Bill Walker in Major Barbara and Tardiveau in An Italian Straw Hat, designed lighting for The Cretan Woman, and directed Arm da Capo. At Stanford University where he is working toward his Ph.D. in Speech and Drama, Mr. Young has played Gib in The Sea and Shepherd's Play, and designed lighting for productions of Three Men on a Horse, Phormio, Breasts of Tiresias and No Trifling With Love. In his previous seasons with the Oregon Shakespearean Festival, he has held the positions of Senior Technician and Master Carpenter.

A Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Drama at Stanford University, he has been on the Technical Staff of the Stanford Repertory Theatre. At Stanford he has played Gib in The Second Shefherds Play and designed the lighting for Three Men on a Horse, Phormio, Breasts of Tiresias, and No Trifling with Love, This fall he will be Technical Director and Instructor in the Department of Speech and Theatre Arts at Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois.

PETER B. YOUNG, Galesburg, Illinois, is returning for his fourth season as Technical Director and his sixth summer with the Festival.
