Title: Pericles, Prince of Tyre (Modern)
Author: William Shakespeare

Editorial principles and publishing history: Pericles was not printed in the First Folio of 1623; it was first printed in Quarto, dated 1609. Its origins are unclear; there is wide agreement that the play was only partly by Shakespeare (principally the latter half), and that the current text is a very poor one and may be incomplete. Opinions differ as to who may have been Shakespeare's collaborator. The current leading contender is George Wilkins.
