This reconstruction, built in the late '50s, shows the influence of early theatre historians, who assumed that the stage would look like Tudor domestic architecture with its half-timbering. The stage is that used by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland (U.S.A.), during its annual summer season.

Compare with the New Globe in London, with its recreation of the more classical architecture indicated in the sketch of the Swan.
